Specialist skills provider Digital Skills, Maidenhead, has become a registered supplier for offering services in support of the Quality Assurance Testing for IT System 2 (QAT&T2) framework.
According to the Crown Commercial Service, the framework “can lead to lower operation costs and enhanced quality assurance across the public sector.” (December 2018 webinar.)
Becoming an approved supplier
Digital Skills is now able to support The Government and its various departments with:
Director of Digital Skills, Mike Cheeseman, says becoming an approved supplier means the company is in a position to directly contribute to the technological progress of public service schemes.
Benefit to the public
Mr Cheeseman says: “We recognise the fact that digital transformation projects are often complex and need careful management and want to do whatever we can to support public sector bodies in finding new ways to make processes more efficient and cost effective.
“Because the QAT&T2 framework rigorously tests new digital systems and services before they are launched, we hope civil servants will feel more empowered to ‘push to boundaries’ when it comes to developing system that will make all of our lives easier.
“For this reason, we’re delighted we are now part of the QAT&T2 scheme.”
Available through the DPS
To become an approved suppler, Digital Skills was required to meet a strict list of criteria as well as undergo and pass the Home Office’s robust evaluation process.
With registration granted, civil servants an those representing public departments are able to hire Digital Skills and other approved QAT&T2 suppliers via the Digital Marketplace Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS).

QAT&T2 is the latest version of the original QAT for IT Systems framework and was released in December 2019. It is designed to offer all public sector departments – as well as their associated bodies and agencies – an independent quality assurance testing service that will make sure new digital systems and services are fit for launch before being released into the public domain.
